So often we hear others talk about building a work life balance. While this is nice and sounds reasonable to everyone, implementing it and making it a habit are not as easily done. When constant stress and financial pressure push people to earn as much as possible, they end up overworked. This often then creates serious issues for them in their personal lives. While we are pushed toward modes of constant production and increases in production, this is rarely always possible. Our careers our meant to facilitate our lives. While they can be a place from which we derive our purpose, very few people can devote themselves solely to their career. If you have a career in which you can find both professional and personal fulfillment, then this is a bonus, but not always the case. A personal life is important and often what we work to build. Working without the ability to enjoy that outside life is somewhat pointless.
