Jeffrey has over 40 years of professional experience in human services and education. He provides consulting and training to public and private, non-profit and for-profits on organizational improvement, strategic planning and maximizing organizational success.
He also works with direct service staff in out-of-home care, focusing on improving services and incorporating best practices into agencies around the country. Jeffrey was previously the Senior Director for Special Projects and Training at Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) for over a decade. He has also has taught at the university level, publishing several books for helping professionals.
Before working at CWLA, he worked for human services agencies providing a wide range of services including out-of-home care (group home, residential and foster care), family preservation services, outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment, and adoption.
He began his career as a school teacher, school principal and worked for the Texas Department of Education providing school improvement services for over a decade.
Currently, Jeffrey is a nationally recognized trainer, and works locally as a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCS 15130) and a California licensed provider of Continuing Education (PCE 4433) with over 40 years of professional experience in human services and education.
Jeffrey’s subject matter areas of expertise include Trauma Informed Treatment in Child Caring Agencies and implementing Evidence Based Practices in Child Caring Agencies. In addition, Mr. Bormaster also brings the knowledge and ability to assess modern-day organizational challenges including: understanding the multi-generational challenges of todays workforce, recruiting and retaining generation X and Y employees, motivating staff, hiring right, interviewing effectively, and improving operational success.
