Mrs. Grimm is the former Executive Director for the Office of Health Care Quality for Maryland’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. She was responsible for the oversight and monitoring of approximately 13,000 health care facilities and programs concerning quality of care and regulatory compliance. Between 1990 and early 2000, she held various positions in the medical field, including Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse, Infection Control Practitioner, and President of Geriatric Psychological Services’ Baltimore Division. She later transitioned into the legal aspects of healthcare, serving as a Nurse Attorney Risk Manager and Executive Director for Risk Management, Patient Safety, and Infection Control Programs.
After obtaining her law degree in 2002, she provided legal services for the Health Education Resource Organization (HERO), conducted mediation for the Maryland Commission for Human Relations, and advised state-wide agencies on regulatory changes. She continues to be actively involved in healthcare compliance and legal education, including instructing new law school graduates in the Maryland Bar Review. Mrs. Grimm is a board member of the Maryland Patient Safety Center and the University of Baltimore Alumni Association and has received several awards recognizing her contributions to healthcare law and policy.
